An accident involving a dumpster and a passenger car on the BR-010 left a man dead at kilometer 3 of the federal highway, in the municipality of Irituia, southwestern region of Pará. The heavy load vehicle would not have had enough strength to complete the climb up a hill on the road, according to witnesses. Unable to move forward, the bucket ended up reversing and hitting the passenger car directly behind it on the highway. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) was called to guide drivers and isolate the area. According to the PRF, a section of the road towards São Miguel do Guamá remains closed for inspection and vehicle removal work. To facilitate circulation and reduce retention, traffic at the site had to be temporarily operated under the "go and stop" system.
