Witnesses reported that the suspect was wearing a black shirt and cap at the time of the crime. He fled the scene after committing the crime.

Upon hearing the threat, one of the young men managed to escape and survived. Moisés Gabriel was unable to escape and was hit by several gunshots. A team from the Military Fire Department (CBM) provided first aid and took the victim to the State General Hospital (HGE), in Trapiche da Barra. However, Moisés Gabriel succumbed to his injuries and died in the health unit. Military and Civil Police teams were at the scene.
