Barça announces Kerolin with record value in Brazilian women's football

In an official statement, Barcelona highlighted the skills of the 26-year-old player, who last season won the FA Cup and English Championship titles – the latter previously unprecedented for a Brazilian athlete. Kerolin will play for the Catalan team until the 2030 season.

"Kerolin Nicoli is one of the most exciting attacking players in world football. Her arrival brings an athlete capable of making a difference in the final third of the field, thanks to her exceptional dribbling ability, speed and eye for goal", stated the Catalan club.

The amounts paid by the Spanish and English clubs for the Brazilian striker were also the highest in the clubs themselves. Kerolin's sale was the most expensive in the history of City's women's football. Barça's last record signing for women's football occurred in 2022, with the purchase of British Keira Walsh, ex-Citizens, for 460 thousand euros (R$ 2.56 million at the time).

"The signing of Kerolin Nicoli is a new demonstration of ambition by FC Barcelona. The club continues to focus on bringing together the best players on the international scene, with the aim of remaining among the elite of world football and continuing to pave the way for excellence", added Barça.

Revealed in the Valinhos youth categories, in Campinas (SP), the player made her professional debut at Ponte Preta. He then played for Corinthians, Palmeiras, Madrid CFF and North Carolina Courage before arriving at City.
