Now, the song has taken on a new meaning for both of them. After suffering a stroke in July last year, Marinalva Bezerra Santos, aged 67, developed dementia, one of the consequences of the disease. In many moments, he no longer recognizes his own daughter. During the recording of the “Wal com Vida” project, last year, in Recife (PE), Marinalva surprised the singer: she got up from her chair and went on stage while her daughter performed precisely the song that marked their history. Upon seeing her mother nervous, Walkyria asked security guards to allow her to enter the stage. The two continued singing the track together, and the moment was maintained in the audiovisual recording released last Friday (17).

"I dedicated the song to her, she was moved and wanted to go on stage. Nothing had been agreed. While I was there, I remembered her singing it all the time while washing clothes on Sundays, in her backyard, there in Monteiro, Paraíba. That's why the song was chosen", recalls Walkyria in an interview with g1. 'Honoring people in life' The project created by Walkyria was designed for theaters and has been recorded in different capitals in the Northeast. A very different format from the one she has known for three decades. First as lead singer of the band Magnificos and, since 2016, in a solo career, the singer got used to doing forró shows with lots of dancers, choreography and a repertoire designed to keep the audience on their feet, dancing and drinking all night long. "The stages of open shows continue to be exciting, of course, but they are no longer new. Theater is the big new thing for me now. Disclosure The repertoire of this new show brings together songs that helped build Walkyria's artistic identity: reinterpretations of songs by artists like Fábio Jr. and hits that marked the beginning of his career. There is also space for guests. The singer has already welcomed Daniel Diau, from Calcinha Preta, and Yara Tchê, from the band Seu Quero, longtime friends who shared the stage with her performing hits from their own repertoires. “This project is a way of telling people that I love them while they are still alive,” he says. In Recife, Walkyria was able to do this by looking deep into her mother's eyes.
