This is what a survey by the observatory "De Olho nos Ruralistas" points out, which analyzed more than 20 thousand contracts signed by city halls and state governments between January 2024 and March 2026. Of the 7,412 presentations identified in the period, 5,818 took place in the Northeast. To make them viable, R$2.22 billion were disbursed from public coffers in contracts with artists. But why does a single region of the country concentrate more public resources for shows than all the others combined? To answer this question, g1 listened to researchers responsible for the study, experts in public management and professionals from the concert market. According to them, the phenomenon is the result of a combination of factors, such as: ? market concentration in the hands of large northeastern producers; ? coordination of local politicians considering the return of visibility; ? favorable geography, which reduces costs and facilitates presentation routes. Before detailing these explanations, check out other excerpts from the survey: ? Which states spent the most? Pablo sings 'Tomara' at the Bahia Winter Festival Reproduction/TV Sudoeste Bahia and Pernambuco lead the way in spending on public shows in the country. The values ??consider both fees paid directly by state governments and those signed by city halls.

Henry Freitas Disclosure The complete survey, available on the observatory's website, brings together a series of excerpts about the public concert market in Brazil. One of them lists the 40 artists who have received the most public funding for performances since 2024. Together, these names accumulated R$3.08 billion in contracts in the period. The amount is close to the annual record for funding under the Rouanet Law, which reached R$3.41 billion in 2025. But there is an important difference: the resources from the Rouanet Law are allocated to thousands of cultural projects, such as theater, dance, literature, museums, historical heritage, visual and audiovisual arts, through tax incentives. The values ??identified in the survey correspond to direct payments from public coffers to book shows by just 40 artists. The numbers show, so far, the size of the public shows industry in Brazil. Now, understand what explains the concentration of these resources in a single region of the country: 1) The strength of northeastern producers ??? Wesley Safadão (Camarote Shows), Xand Avião (Vybbe) and Pablo (M&P) are founding partners of large show producers. Social networks One of the main factors that help explain the concentration of public shows in the Northeast is the structure of the music market itself. Five producers based in the region manage the careers of 21 of the 40 artists who have received the most public resources since 2024 in Brazil. Together, they total R$2.4 billion in contracts. Check below who these producers are and the size of their presence in the public concert market: The 5 producers that started to concentrate part of the artists most hired by city halls and governments. arte g1 In addition to managing the careers of already established artists, these producers also promote new names and accelerate the appreciation of their fees. "They are able to close many contracts because of their institutional and political power with city halls and state governments. It must be said: the agenda of public shows in Brazil, today, are the producers", says Alceu Castilho, journalist who coordinated the survey by the observatory De Olho nos Ruralistas. 2) The political will to invest ?? Raquel Lyra (PSD) alongside singer Natanzinho Lima during a performance at the Pernambuco Meu País festival, being held in Recife, in December 2025. She received R$800,000 for the performance. Social networks The strength of the producers, however, depends on a central element: the decision of public managers to allocate resources to contract these shows. Among governors across the country, Raquel Lyra (PSD), from Pernambuco, appears as the manager who hired the most artists in the ranking. Since 2024, its administration has allocated R$57 million in fees to 25 of the 40 names
