PF requests investigation of Flávio’s deputy on suspicion of rape

The Federal Police asked the Federal Supreme Court for authorization to open an investigation into the case. The request is under the rapporteur of Minister Gilmar Mendes, who has not yet decided whether to allow the formal start of the investigation. Before analyzing the request, the magistrate awaits steps from the PF and a statement from the Attorney General's Office. Therefore, Gaspar is not yet investigated by the STF for this suspicion.

How did the accusation against Alfredo Gaspar arise?

The material that gave rise to the request was presented to the Federal Police by deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) and senator Soraya Thronicke. The parliamentarians forwarded documents and recordings that, according to them, would justify the investigation of an alleged rape of a vulnerable person.

The accusation gained repercussion during the work of the INSS CPMI, for which Gaspar was rapporteur. At a committee session, Lindbergh called the deputy a “rapist”, provoking a confrontation between parliamentarians.

According to the version taken to the authorities, the episode would have occurred around eight years ago and would have involved a 13-year-old teenager, who had become pregnant. The documents would also mention an alleged payment attempt to prevent the case from being publicized.

These allegations have not yet been confirmed by the courts and there is, to date, no criminal complaint filed against Alfredo Gaspar regarding the episode.

Alfredo Gaspar denies rape accusation

The deputy claims that the accusation is false and attributes its disclosure to a political reaction to the work he carried out at the INSS CPMI.

Gaspar says that the story mentioned by parliamentarians involves a cousin and people different from those mentioned in the accusation presented to the Federal Police. According to the deputy, there was no crime in the episode reported by his defense.

The parliamentarian also reported having carried out an exam to obtain his genetic profile. The result, in isolation, does not represent a comparison of paternity with the child mentioned in the accusation.

Gaspar sued the STF against Lindbergh Farias and Soraya Thronicke and accuses both of them of crimes such as slander, insult, slanderous denunciation and coercion during the process. Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign classified the accusations as frivolous and called for the case to be closed.

Flávio Bolsonaro announced Alfredo Gaspar as candidate for vice president this Wednesday (5). The choice frustrated the senator's initial plan to form a ticket with a woman from another party.

Without obtaining formal support from parties in the center, Flávio opted for a ticket made up only of PL members. Gaspar is 55 years old, has been a federal deputy since 2023 and has previously held the positions of Attorney General of Justice and Secretary of Public Security of Alagoas.

The parliamentarian gained national recognition as rapporteur for the INSS CPMI. When announcing the choice, Flávio presented Gaspar as a name linked to the Northeast, public security and the fight against corruption.

TCU investigates amendments sent by Alfredo Gaspar

Gaspar also appears in an audit by the Federal Court of Auditors on three Pix amendments destined for the municipality of São José da Laje, in Alagoas. The transfers total approximately R$6.2 million.

Court technicians pointed out flaws in the traceability of resources after the money was moved to accounts other than those that received the amounts. The audit also identified the absence of information required in the federal transfer system.

The deputy denies having committed irregularities and claims that his responsibility was limited to indicating the amendments. According to him, the application of resources and accountability are the responsibility of the benefiting city hall.

The Attorney General's Office filed a representation requesting the investigation of Gaspar's personal participation in possible irregularities, as it did not identify concrete elements against the parliamentarian. The administrative analysis of the amendments, however, remains in the TCU.
