Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), decided this Monday (13) to suspend for 90 days the visits of senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) to former president Jair Bolsonaro, who is under house arrest.

The measure was taken after the senator posted on social media, last Saturday (11), a letter written by his father in his favor.

In the decision, Moraes gave 48 hours for Jair Bolsonaro's defense to comment on the publication of the letter.

According to the minister, the former president is prohibited from using social media, including through third parties.

"There is no doubt, therefore, that the irregular conduct of Flávio Nantes Bolsonaro disrespected the express judicial prohibition and constituted an ostensible misuse of purpose in the exercise of his right to visit, allowing, under the terms of paragraph 1 of article 41 of the Criminal Executions Law, his immediate suspension", concluded the minister.

The minister also determined that the case be sent to the Public Electoral Ministry for information and the adoption of appropriate measures depending on the electoral period.

Last year, Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison in connection with the coup plot. Then, after undergoing surgery, he gained the right to serve house arrest to recover from bacterial pneumonia.
