Michelle Bolsonaro will be a candidate for the Senate for the PL of the Federal District, says Bia Kicis
Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro will be a candidate for the Senate for the PL of the Federal District (DF), announced this Saturday, the 1st, the deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF), who also made her pre-candidacy for the...
The deputy reported that Michelle was unable to attend the event because she was undergoing tests at a hospital. Initially, her presence had been announced, but the information was corrected by the deputy moments later.
"The resonance was scheduled for 3 pm and so far it hasn't happened and, therefore, she won't be able to be here in person; but she instructed me to tell you this great news: Michelle Bolsonaro announces that she is indeed a candidate for the Senate for the PL of the Federal District", stated Bia Kicis.
DF governor Celina Leão, who is expected to run for re-election, also participated in the event. "We are not going to have three sides. We will only have two sides in this election: the side of good and the side of evil. And that is why we are all united here. And that is why Michelle and Bia must be candidates, so that we do not hand over two Senate seats to the left", said the governor.
"We have to be united everywhere, Bia. Wherever I am, you will be; wherever I set foot, you will be - and Michelle will be too, Bia. In every place in this Federal District", said Celina.
Arm wrestling with Flávio
As Estadão showed, Michelle must have influence in the electoral campaign even at home, her allies assess. She has measured her public exposure since her husband, former president Jair Bolsonaro, began serving house arrest in a condominium in Brasília, in March.
State leaders of PL Mulher, in turn, foresee a struggle with the men of the party to defend their candidacy for the Senate without a national presidency to provide support. The former first lady resigned as president of PL Mulher at the end of June to stop the wear and tear caused by releasing the video against senator Flávio Bolsonaro.
A sign of reconciliation between the two occurred days ago, with a video published by Flávio in which he apologized to Michelle, praised her performance and defended the union of the right to defeat the PT. Hours later, she released a video accepting the apology and paving the way for a reconciliation.
