BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - The president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, assesses that the letter sent by Jair Bolsonaro is important for the campaign of Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), as it is the former president who has the votes that can elect his son.

"It's good to show this to the voters, because the voters are for Bolsonaro, for Jair, right? For the father", he told the reporter this Sunday (12).

Asked if the document does not indicate the fragility of Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign, as considered by the PSD pre-candidate for the Presidency, Ronaldo Caiado, he reaffirmed: "Bolsonaro is the one who has the votes. Take a good look at what he did, for example, for our party, we have 98 federal deputies today. It's Bolsonaro who has a lot of votes. Now, they have to be good people to get those votes."

On Saturday (12), Flávio read a letter on social media in which the former president states that his son is his "spokesperson" and candidate.

While reading the message, Flávio highlighted that this avoids "conflicting speeches or different directions" within the right.

Since former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) posted a video in which she says that the presidential candidate disrespected, mistreated her and left it understood that he did not want her support, Flávio has sought to reaffirm his position as a representative of the group.

Michelle left the presidency of PL Mulher in June. Last week, he created a new profile on Instagram, called Unstoppable MB, and published a video that shows Wonder Woman fighting a "machine gun of lies."

Valdemar Costa Neto said he hopes the letter will resolve the conflicts and lead Michelle to enter "the campaign in earnest." "If we lose the elections, Bolsonaro will be in prison for another ten years. It will be chaos," he says.

However, a person close to Michelle, who spoke confidentially, believes that the letter worsens the relationship. She says that the former first lady is concerned about the possibility that publishing the document on social networks could be considered a violation of the ban on the use of social networks, which also applies to use by third parties.

This person believes that the document demonstrates that Flávio and his brothers are willing to take their father back to prison if this would benefit the campaign.

When he extended the former president's house arrest, the minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes reinforced that all precautionary measures and conditions set for the beginning of house arrest, in March, would remain valid, and that failure to comply with the rules would lead to the "immediate return to the closed regime".

On Saturday, deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ), asked the STF to return Jair Bolsonaro to prison in a closed regime and impose a fine for publishing the letter.

"The non-compliance is objective, deliberate and confessed. Objective, because the convict's statement was effectively broadcast on social media, reaching a massive audience. Deliberate, because the letter was written on the morning of the same day of publication, during an authorized family visit, thus instrumentalizing the visiting regime itself", explains the deputy in the piece.

To Folha de S. Paulo, he said that the letter aims to reinforce Flávio's bond with Jair and remove Michelle's role of speaking for him. "They want to pull Jair back into the picture. The moderate Bolsonaro didn't work, it's not working," he stated.

Valdemar Costa Neto, however, says there is no risk of Bolsonaro returning to prison because of sharing the video. “Letters he can write,” he said.
