Revenue releases consultation on the special batch of automatic IR refund Disclosure The Federal Revenue pays this Wednesday (15) the special batch of automatic refund of Personal Income Tax (IRPF), a pilot initiative known as "cashback". Payment will be made directly to the account linked to the taxpayer's CPF type PIX key. (see how to consult) ?? Do you have any suggestion for a report? Send it to g1 The lot is intended for people who were not required to submit their Income Tax declaration in 2025 and, therefore, did not declare it, but had tax withheld at source throughout 2024 and have amounts to be refunded. According to the IRS, around 4 million taxpayers should benefit at this stage, with the release of approximately R$500 million in refunds. The refund amount is limited to R$1,000 per taxpayer.

How "cashback" works Automatic refund is a pilot project created to facilitate the return of amounts paid incorrectly or in excess by taxpayers who did not need to submit an Income Tax declaration. In this model, the IRS uses information already available in its databases to automatically prepare a simplified declaration, identifying possible amounts to be refunded without the citizen having to start the process. ? According to the body, the measure seeks to reduce bureaucracy and prevent millions of Brazilians from failing to receive resources to which they are entitled due to ignorance of the rules or because they are exempt from declaring tax. Who is entitled To receive the automatic refund, the taxpayer must meet all of the following requirements: not be required to submit the IRPF declaration for the 2025 financial year; not having submitted the declaration on their own initiative; have had income tax withheld at source during 2024; be entitled to a refund of up to R$1,000; have a regular CPF and a PIX key registered with the CPF. How do I check the special refund? Starting this Wednesday, taxpayers will be able to check whether they have been included in the special refund batch through official Federal Revenue channels. The query can be made: Through the Federal Revenue website: Access the Federal Revenue portal. Click on "My Income Tax". Select the option "Consult Refund". Log in with your gov.br account (silver or gold level), if requested. Check whether your CPF was included in the special batch. Or on your cell phone: Open the IRS app, available for Android and iOS. Log in with your gov.br account. Access the refund consultation area and check if you have been covered. To access the service, you must log in with a silver or gold level gov.br account. In the "My Income Tax" area, the taxpayer will be able to access the declaration automatically generated by the IRS, which has the same functionalities as a traditional declaration. It will be possible to: check the data used by the Revenue; include additional information if necessary; rectify or adjust the declaration before processing is completed. If you are entitled to a refund, the credit will be made exclusively to an account linked to a CPF type Pix key. There will be no deposits into accounts held by another owner or issuance of payment orders. Therefore, the IRS advises that taxpayers provide a Pix key linked to the CPF to receive the amounts. Schedule This special batch follows its own calendar and is not part of the regular 2026 Income Tax refund schedule: July 8: consultation with recipients; July 15: payment of the refund in a single installment; July 31: payment of the next regular batch of IRPF. While this special batch includes taxpayers who did not submit the declaration, traditional refunds continue to be paid normally to those who submitted the document within the legal deadline. According to the Federal Revenue Service, the initiative is part of the tax administration modernization strategy, focusing on automating processes, simplifying tax obligations and expanding taxpayers' access to unduly paid amounts. The body recommends that consultations and monitoring of the process be carried out only through official channels, to reduce the risk of scams and fraud.
