The average value of debts is R$4,000, and the transaction will be limited to debts of up to R$20,000, with installments in up to 145 installments and discounts of up to 70%.
"These are not just debts arising from the MEI. A CNPJ may have a debt, for example, with the Union's Heritage Secretariat, which is registered as an active debt. This debt is also included in the regularization program. It is a customized tax transaction program for payment sustainability and for the financial health of these MEIs and which closes the cycle of encouraging new credits", stated the attorney general of the National Treasury, Anelize Almeida.
At the press conference, the Minister of Entrepreneurship, Paulo Henrique Pereira, also announced the inclusion of federal services in Contrata + Brasil and reinforced the proposal to update the MEI revenue ceiling - already sent by the government to Congress last Monday, 29th. The bill increases the MEI revenue limit to R$ 110 thousand in 2027 and R$ 140 thousand in 2028.
According to Pereira, the current ceiling of R$81 had not been updated since January 2018 and, if it were corrected for inflation in the period, it would reach the value of R$128 thousand.
"The economic effects are terrible, because this entrepreneur becomes a defaulter, his profit margin is squeezed, he goes to informal income, which hinders the development of business. Or he promotes mechanisms that are unwanted by the Brazilian government, such as growth on the side, opening another MEI", stated the minister.
