(FOLHAPRESS) - Globo and Globoplay pay tribute to Preta Gil (1974-2025) this Sunday (20), on the one-year anniversary of her death. Open TV shows the documentary film "Preta - Eu Não Ando Só" and streaming makes available the first episodes of the series "Meu Nome é Preta".

Both productions feature unpublished recordings recorded by the artist during her cancer treatment and testimonials from friends and family, including her son, Francisco Gil. The young man recalled the days before his mother's diagnosis and how she lived her last days.

"We moved New Year's Eve from 2022 to 2023, we did a show together, we agreed to go on a trip, but we saw that she wasn't well, until a time came when she said: 'I need to go to the hospital'", he said.

The musician also highlighted the impact that public exposure of cancer had in raising awareness of the importance of prevention. For him, Preta's process was "luminous" in exposing the disease to other people. Francisco also spoke of the close relationship he maintained with the singer until the last moments of his life.

"She was this extremely affectionate, physical, kissing, hugging mother. We slept together many times in the last few years, including her last night. I was holding her while she was sleeping and, in some way, I felt it," he shared.
