Xuxa Meneghel spoke out after Luiza Brunet was the target of criticism on social media for defending her during the controversy involving Mara Maravilha. The presenter regretted that her friend was attacked because of an argument that began with comments about her career and said she was sorry for what happened.

The situation began when Luiza Brunet praised Xuxa's career and spoke about the importance of the presenter. On social media, the former model criticized Mara Maravilha: "The problem is that this girl [Mara] has been in the fridge for a long time. And I even understand when the market itself doesn't want it anymore. But I think she thinks she's going to inhibit the biggest one of them all. Xuxa always Xuxa, the other only knows how to complain and talk nonsense."

After the statement, Mara responded by referring to the episode of domestic violence experienced by Luiza. "Did this one manage to get any money from the zilhardario? Hmm, I don't think so. Poor thing, she still says she got beaten up. Okay, Xuxa, I said it!", she wrote.

The speech provoked a new reaction from Luiza, who classified the use of a case of violence as a means of mockery as serious. She stated that her complaint was judged by the STF and that the attacker was convicted. Luiza also highlighted that women already face questions when they find the courage to talk about violence and advocated that they not do this to each other.

After all the repercussions, Xuxa decided to publicly support her friend. The presenter wrote: “I'm sorry, my Lulu, you were criticized because of me, I'm immensely sorry... and may God put more love in our lives.” The message demonstrated the affection between the two and also brought a request for more love and understanding.

According to information released by O Globo, Luiza was attacked by her then partner, businessman Lírio Parisotto, during a trip to New York, in May 2016. On that occasion, she suffered four broken ribs and injuries to her face. Parisotto was convicted of assault in 2017.

Xuxa, in turn, has a fortune estimated at around R$1.3 billion, assets built over more than four decades of television career, sales of more than 50 million records, advertising contracts and business investments, including stakes in franchise networks and real estate.
