Woman who pretended to be a child in SC is indicted in PR for embezzlement

Amanda Maria Souza de Oliveira, 38, was indicted for embezzlement for scams she allegedly carried out in Paraná, before the episode that led to her arrest in Santa Catarina. The indictment took place last Friday (10), in Colombo, in the metropolitan region of Paraná — where the crime was recorded.

The investigations were reopened by the Paraná police after members of a prayer group in Paraná identified the woman in the case in the neighboring state. She was arrested in Santa Catarina after posing as a teenager while receiving care from a family in Joinville.

In the case of Paraná, the woman also extorted money from church volunteers by claiming that she was a teenager and had terminal cancer. The incident was registered in 2022, but was temporarily closed due to the inability to reach the author.

The Paraná Civil Police said that the woman denied all crimes during interrogation. UOL was unable to contact the accused and the space remains open for demonstrations.
