SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) - Minnie Driver used social media to reassure fans after experiencing one of the scariest moments of her life.

The British actress, 56, revealed that she was in a serious car accident during a trip to France and said that she considers herself "grateful to be alive" after the collision.

In a video published on Instagram this Thursday (6), the artist appeared lying on a bed, wearing a neck brace, and said that she had already returned to London to continue her recovery. Right at the beginning of the recording, she also made a joke about her own physical state.

"Hi, everyone. News from Paris: actually, I'm already back in London. Sorry for the filter I put on, but honestly, without it, I look horrible," he said.

Afterwards, Minnie explained that the accident happened at the beginning of the week while traveling through the French countryside with her friend Ben Homewood. According to her, the two were traveling along a rural road when another driver crossed an intersection without reducing speed, causing a serious side collision.

The actress stated that the impact was extremely violent and recalled that, despite the severity, both managed to survive.

"Somehow, we got out of it. Well, we didn't walk away - we crawled out. But we made it out alive. To be clear, it wasn't our fault. We were driving down a country road in the middle of France when a car failed to stop at an intersection and was coming at a high rate of speed. We crashed directly into the side of it," he reported.

After the accident, Minnie said she suffered a sprained neck and is still facing the emotional effects of the trauma.

"I twisted my neck and I'm still in shock. I cry all the time," he confessed.

Despite the scare, the actress believes that the vehicle's security system was decisive in avoiding even more serious consequences. According to her, the car she was traveling in absorbed much of the impact and the airbags worked correctly during the collision.
