Father is caught kicking three-year-old daughter, in Paraná Businessman José Fernandes said he accidentally witnessed the three-year-old child being kicked by his father. At one point, he stops and kicks his daughter, who falls to the ground. Seconds later, José appears approaching, opens his arms and tries to intervene, but is confronted by the man. After the situation, the businessman looked for images from the security camera. José saw the man attacking his daughter and went to the man to intervene. I dropped what I was doing [...]. I came a little calmly because I saw that she [child] was on the floor, she was very nervous and I saw that her nose was bleeding too. I can't say for sure, but she had her hand on her nose", José recalled. The personal trainer reported that he was very concerned about the girl's safety and, therefore, decided to be cautious during that approach. "Some people asked me 'why didn't you hit him?' [...]. I tell people, 'but, guys, the child is already going through that situation there. And then see her father, who hit her, rolling on the floor with another guy hitting her? What will happen to this child's life?'", he asked. In a statement to the Civil Police, the father said he kicked the girl because she was crying. The case reached the police on Tuesday (7) - two days after the attack - through a police report registered by the girl's mother, who found out about the crime after seeing the images on social media. "Initially, now, the Civil Police's biggest concern was with the well-being of the child, how to guarantee the child's safety and formalize requests for urgent protective measures [...]", the delegate also said. The protective measures cited by the delegate are in favor of the girl, her brother and the mother who made the complaint. An investigation has been launched and the man will be charged with the crime of causing bodily harm, according to the police chief. The Guardianship Council was also contacted and is monitoring the case.
