This week will see 150 mm of rain and a spreading cold front; see the forecast

Weather forecast between this Monday and next (24) from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) shows a rainfall volume of around 150 mm in the south of the country and a cold front advancing towards the Southeast. Significant rainfall also in the north of the country. Check it out:

South

The week begins with rain forecast in much of Rio Grande do Sul due to the action of a cold front associated with the spread of a trough. According to Inmet, rainfall in the state is expected to last until Sunday (23), with the highest accumulations expected for the extreme south of the state, especially in the southeast of Rio Grande do Sul, where volumes could exceed 150 mm during the period. Towards the interior of the state, between the southwest, central-west and northwest regions, the accumulations tend to decrease, remaining around 50 mm. Furthermore, areas of instability could advance towards Santa Catarina and southwestern Paraná. However, in these states, the rain is expected to occur weaker and more isolated, with accumulations of around 10 mm.

Southeast

Dry and stable weather is expected to prevail until next Sunday (23). From this date onwards, the passage of a cold front across the ocean could favor the occurrence of light and isolated rains in stretches of the coastal strip of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Accumulated values ??of around 10 mm are expected. In Minas Gerais, Inmet points out that the weather will remain firm for the next 7 days.

Midwest

Dry and stable weather conditions will continue to prevail over the next 7 days, covering the Federal District, the state of Goiás and most of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. Isolated rain is forecast with accumulated lows, around 3 mm, for areas in the extreme south of the Mato Grosso do Sul territory.

Northeast

Rains are expected to occur along the region's coastline. Between this Monday and Tuesday (18), the highlight is the strip that extends between Recôncavo Baiano and Rio Grande do Norte, where accumulations can occasionally reach around 20 mm. As of Wednesday (19), the trend is for precipitation to weaken, with a gradual reduction in intensity and the occurrence of isolated rains, accompanied by accumulated lows across the entire coastal strip of the region.

North

The largest accumulations of rain are expected to occur in the northwest of Amazonas, the “dog's head” region, with volumes that may occasionally exceed 80 mm throughout the week. According to Inmet, on the coast of Pará, Amapá and Roraima, volumes should be around 10 mm. In other areas of the North, insignificant rainfall is expected, with accumulations of up to 5 mm throughout the week. In Tocantins and Rondônia, there is no rain forecast throughout this week.
