Rain causes damage again in Rio Grande do Sul The storms that hit Rio Grande do Sul have already left 22 thousand units without electricity in 125 municipalities and caused damage in 21 cities, according to the Civil Defense bulletin this Sunday morning (19). The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) published a warning of danger for storms, valid until 11:59 pm on Monday. The forecast indicates rainfall accumulations of up to 100 millimeters per day, in addition to the risk of electricity cuts, damage to crops, falling trees and flooding. Accumulated rainfall may exceed 100 millimeters between the West and the Central Region. In the Vales Region, volumes can exceed 50 millimeters. Wind gusts vary between 70 km/h and 90 km/h in the southern half, Central Region, Valleys and Metropolitan Region. In Campanha, in the Center-South and around the capital, winds can exceed 90 km/h.
