Suspect armed with machete dies after being shot by police and falling into water reservoir

Man dies after being shot by the PM in Araguanã Disclosure/ Fire Department A 46-year-old man, identified as Elismar Pereira da Silva, died on Saturday night (11) after an intervention by the Military Police in Araguanã, in the northern region of the state. According to the PM, the team was called to contain the man, who was on public roads armed with a machete and showing risky behavior, threatening residents. The police reported that they tried to negotiate voluntary disarmament, but the suspect maintained a hostile stance. To contain him, the garrison fired rubber bullets. ? The official note from the Fire Department, however, provides a conflicting version of the means used by the PM. According to the rescue officers, the information gathered from the Military Police garrison at the scene was that, after using rubber bullets as the first measure, a firearm was fired. The victim would have been hit before falling into the reservoir. The notes from the PM and the Secretary of Public Security (SSP) make no mention of the use of lethal weapons during the approach.
