PF carries out operation in São José dos Campos against suspects of international human trafficking to Asia

Federal Police Station of São José dos Campos TV Vanguarda The Federal Police (PF) executed, this Tuesday (14), a search and seizure warrant in São José dos Campos during an operation investigating an international human trafficking scheme. According to the corporation, the suspects lured Brazilians with false promises of employment in Southeast Asia. According to the PF, the investigation investigates the recruitment of victims for so-called "scam centers", centers used to apply electronic scams. In these places, people were forced to work under threats and attacks, after having their passports withheld and being deprived of their liberty. ? Click here to follow the g1 Vale do Paraíba and region channel on WhatsApp The investigation began after a communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the repatriation of Brazilians who showed signs of having been victims of human trafficking in the border region between Cambodia and Vietnam.

According to the Federal Police, those investigated promised high salaries, job opportunities abroad and covered travel expenses. Upon arriving at their destination, however, the victims were forced to participate in electronic fraud carried out against people from different countries. In addition to the search warrant in São José dos Campos, the 6th Federal Court of Santos ordered the preventive detention of one of the people being investigated, who has been in Cambodia since July 2025 and is considered a fugitive. The court also ordered the inclusion of his name on the Interpol Red Diffusion list. A second person under investigation was subject to precautionary measures. The victims have already returned to Brazil. The identities of those investigated were not revealed by the authorities. They may be held liable for the crime of international human trafficking.
