Items seized by BAEP after death of man in Campinas BAEP A man died after being shot by the Military Police (PM) in Jardim Morumbi, in Campinas, late Friday night (7). According to the PM, the approach occurred during a patrol by the Special Police Actions Battalion (Baep), in support of the 47th Battalion of the Interior Military Police. The corporation stated that the man, who was in a white Renault Kwid, pulled out a 38-caliber revolver and pointed the gun at the police, who fired. BAEP stated that it seized 31 kilos of drugs at the scene, in addition to the victim's weapon. According to the police, the man had a criminal record in Santa Catarina. In 2013, he was involved in an incident for illegal possession of a permitted firearm. In 2021, he was arrested twice for stealing and also for murder. In 2023, he was taken for investigation on suspicion of receiving drugs and trafficking. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
