The approach took place in Lajeado by police teams, when the group was returning from robberies committed in Santa Catarina. Several metallic objects compatible with goods taken from cemeteries and churches were seized in the vehicles, including plaques, signs and a bell. One of the objects made it possible to link the group to a theft that occurred in the municipality of Descanso, in Santa Catarina. Two of those approached had temporary arrest warrants issued as part of the investigation, and there was also a search and seizure warrant for one of the vehicles used by the group. The three men, the vehicles and the seized objects were presented at the Venâncio Aires Police Station. After analyzing the elements gathered, it was determined that those involved would be arrested in the act for the crimes of criminal association and theft qualified by the competition of persons.
