A security camera recorded the moment the teenager, who was on a bicycle, was hit by a speeding car. The 51-year-old driver of the vehicle fled the scene without providing assistance to the victim, but was subsequently arrested after handing himself over to the Military Police. He confessed to having consumed alcohol before driving and had his preventive detention ordered by the courts. 'Full of dreams and plans' According to his aunt, the student was excited about the chance to get his first job. He was preparing to enter a youth apprenticeship program and often spoke about his desire to help with household expenses. "At 15 years old, he's a child, he was at the peak of his life, he had plans, he had dreams. He was happy, he was going to prepare to start working. He said: 'Mom, I want to work, have my money to help you'. He was very full of dreams, I can't believe it. He will be greatly missed", he says. Despite the incalculable pain, Cristiane points out that Nathan's mother decided not to hold resentment against the driver. Now, the family hopes the case serves as a warning. "We will expect justice from God. [...] But I ask that people be more aware and serve as an example. If you drink, don't drive, you are making several families suffer.
