The spaces will bring together businesses from the commerce, industry, services, agribusiness and crafts segments, offering the public a diversity of products, such as food and beverages, cosmetics, fashion, accessories, handcrafted pieces, decoration, family farming products and specialized services. In total, Expo MEI will feature 80 individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEIs) and seven artisans, while the Entrepreneur's Warehouse will feature another 20 entrepreneurs selected by the State Government. Among the entrepreneurs participating in the fair is artisan Maria Helena Pereira do Espírito Santo, owner of the Artesanatos Helena de Tróia brand. At 62 years old, she works on producing an exclusive collection of mandalas, macramé pieces, bags, decorative panels and plant stands that will be presented to the public during the event. Having been in the market for over five years and formalized as a MEI since 2025, Helena participates in the training offered by Sebrae and considers the Entrepreneur Fair an opportunity to expand the business. "Preparation is in full swing. I am producing a collection to present at the fair. The expectation is to boost sales, create connections, win over customers, establish partnerships and strengthen the positioning of my brand", he states. Artisan Maria Helena Pereira, from Artesanatos Helena de Tróia, will bring an exclusive collection of decoration items to the Entrepreneur's Fair. Sebrae/Disclosure Expo MEI reaches its third edition and, for the first time, is part of the Entrepreneur's Fair program. Created by Sebrae Maranhão, the initiative aims to strengthen individual microentrepreneurs through the marketing of products and services, business generation and a training program with lectures and workshops aimed at improving small business management. The strength of individual microentrepreneurs is reflected in the numbers. Currently, the state has 146,367 active individual microentrepreneurs, which represent 45.5% of active companies. In the first half of 2026 alone, 26,435 new MEIs were formalized, reinforcing the importance of this segment for generating employment, income and economic development. According to Sebrae analyst, Paula Waldira, Expo MEI was created to increase the visibility of individual microentrepreneurs and strengthen one of the most representative segments of entrepreneurship in the state. "Expo MEI is an opportunity to promote brands, products and services, win new customers, establish partnerships and expand sales. It is a space designed to give visibility to micro-entrepreneurs and strengthen businesses that play a fundamental role in Maranhão's economy", he highlights. The Entrepreneur's Warehouse will take to the Entrepreneur's Fair a diversity of products and services that represent the potential of small businesses in Maranhão. Sebrae/Disclosure Another showcase for small businesses will be the Entrepreneur's Warehouse, an initiative created in 2022 by the Government of Maranhão and coordinated by the State Secretariat for Industry and Commerce (Seinc). The project brings together around 350 small and medium-sized enterprises from different segments and participates in the state's main fairs and exhibitions through a rotation system between registered entrepreneurs. At the Entrepreneur Fair, 20 entrepreneurs from Maranhão will occupy the Warehouse space to present their products and services, expand markets and create new commercial opportunities. In addition to the free exhibition, participants will also have access to lectures, workshops and business rounds promoted during the event. According to the deputy secretary of Micro and Small Business at Seinc, Luzia Rezende, the partnership with Sebrae expands opportunities for entrepreneurs by bringing together, in the same environment, marketing, qualification and market connections. "In addition to visibility for the products, entrepreneurs will have access to lectures, workshops and business rounds that strengthen management, encourage new investments and contribute to the growth of companies", he highlights.
