According to the woman's report to the military, the suspect stated that if she remained at the scene, she would be stabbed. The victim said he panicked and needed to be supported by partygoers. According to the PM, the woman reported that the threats are frequent and that she fears for her own physical integrity, which is why she decided to report the suspect. In a conversation with the police, the councilor confirmed that there was a disagreement, but denied having made death threats. In the version presented by him, the objective was just to talk to the woman because he still had hope of rekindling the relationship. He also stated that his ex-wife was drunk at the time of the argument. Given the situation, the PM arrested the councilor for the crime of threat in the context of domestic violence. He was taken to the Divinópolis Civil Police Station, which will be responsible for investigating the case.
