Bus hits a pole in Campinas after skidding on a wet road, says Emdec A public transport bus from Campinas, on line 316 (Parque Cidade), crashed into a pole in the early hours of this Saturday (8), in the Santa Mônica neighborhood, in the Amarais region. According to the Campinas Municipal Development Company (Emdec), the accident happened around 12:10 am, after the vehicle slid due to the wet road and the presence of oil on the road. The bus was traveling along Rua Sylvia da Silva Braga, at the intersection with Rua Pedro Pinheiro, in the Center-neighborhood direction. When trying to brake, the driver lost control and hit the pole. According to Emdec, eight passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident. No one was injured, and the users were transferred to another vehicle. One lane of the road remains partially closed while the bus awaits removal. Traffic agents signaled the location. Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL) was called to carry out repairs on the pole and said, in a statement, that the section was isolated and that a heavy maintenance team will replace the structure. After the pole is stabilized, sawdust will be placed on the road to absorb the oil and increase driver safety.
