The objective of the action is to create opportunities for children and adolescents to develop, through football, cooperation and citizenship. Sicredi Football gained new incentives for 80 students at Escola Estadual Pedro Carneiro, in the Parque Verde neighborhood, in Belém. Last Wednesday (12), the students received complete sports kits to practice the sport, in an action that seeks to use sport as a tool for inclusion, coexistence and social development. The delivery is part of the project “Sicredi and Visa: Wearing Dreams and Transforming Stories”, developed in partnership with the Instituto Futebol de Rua. The initiative is part of a national mobilization that should reach around 3,200 children and adolescents in 40 Brazilian cities. For students at Escola Pedro Carneiro, the kit becomes part of an activity that can contribute to building bonds, developing new skills and discovering possibilities through sport. "The project adds to actions that we already develop here at the school, which is a reference in the community, and this made us leverage this activity more with the students, in favor of an education committed to the quality of what is developed. It was a gift that they received in every way, in encouraging the culture of peace, in combating bullying and racial prejudice. Learning happens when there is this set of efforts in their favor", stated the school director, Lourdes Silva. In addition to encouraging sports, the proposal is to create opportunities for children and adolescents to develop, through football, skills that are also part of life in society, such as cooperation, respect, discipline and teamwork. In Belém, the delivery of materials represents more than access to equipment for football practice. For Thiago Rocha, manager of the Sicredi Cidade Nova agency, initiatives like this show how sport can contribute to the education of children and adolescents. "We are very happy to be part of this project that transforms lives, which has an impact at home with children, with parents, with families. We really believe in this power of transformation through sport. That's why we are supporting it, this is our bias too, of being very close to the community and, above all, bringing prosperity to the place where we operate." The action carried out in Belém is part of an agenda that also included other municipalities in Sicredi's area of ??operation in the North of the country, Mato Grosso and some municipalities in Goiás. Manaus (AM), Cuiabá and Guarantã do Norte (MT), Rolim de Moura (RO), Laranjal do Jari and Macapá (AP) are among the participating cities. "It's much more than sport, we bring hope, values ??and smiles to children. We teach them how to overcome the social inequalities in which many find themselves. It is extremely gratifying to be part of an organization like the Instituto Futebol de Rua, which has been working with this initiative for over 20 years", explained Natasha Viana, sports support at the Institute.
