Soldier's Day: Army holds programming with equipment exhibition and ceremony in Belém

Soldier's Day: Army promotes exhibition of military equipment and ceremony in Belém Assessoria Império The Eastern Amazon Military Command (CMAO) promotes, this Saturday (22) and Sunday (23), a special program in Belém in celebration of Soldier's Day, celebrated on August 25. The public will be able to visit an exhibition of equipment and materials used by military personnel working in the Amazon for free. The exhibition will be held at Shopping Bosque Grão-Pará, during the establishment's opening hours. Among the equipment that will be available for visitation are armored vehicles, helicopters, boats and other materials used by the Army. The space will also have a progression track with night vision goggles. The public will also be able to receive assistance at stands at the General Hospital, the Military College and the Recruitment and Mobilization Station, where information and services related to the regularization of certificates will be offered. According to Colonel Vanderli, responsible for programming, the initiative seeks to bring the Army closer to the population. "The last exhibition, in celebration of Army Day, was a success in interacting with the public. We will repeat the demonstrations, showing equipment that is not common to see in everyday life", he stated. Cultural presentations The program will also feature performances by the CMAO Band, the Military College Band and Choir. The repertoire will include regional music and other cultural attractions. The presentations are scheduled to take place at 5pm on both exhibition days. Military ceremony The celebrations will end on Tuesday (25), Soldier's Day, with a military ceremony in the courtyard of the 2nd Jungle Infantry Battalion (2nd BIS), on Avenida Almirante Barroso. The event is scheduled for 7:30 pm. Soldier's Day is celebrated on August 25th in honor of Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, the Duke of Caxias. He was born on August 25, 1803 and is considered patron of the Brazilian Army.
