X's relationship with Brazilian authorities has already gone through one of its most delicate moments in 2024, when the network was temporarily suspended in the country. In August of that year, the company announced the closure of its office in Brazil and alleged that Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), had threatened to arrest its legal representative in the country if she did not comply with court decisions. Days later, Moraes ordered the platform to appoint a new legal representative. As the order was not complied with, the minister ordered the suspension of X throughout the national territory. The measure was only reversed around 40 days later.
