Renato Machado, a reference in Brazilian television journalism, dies at the age of 83 in Rio Journalist Renato Machado, former presenter of Bom Dia Brasil, died this Thursday morning (16), aged 83, at Clínica São Vicente, in Gávea, South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The cause of death was not disclosed. One of the main names in Brazilian television journalism, Renato Machado had a career spanning more than four decades at TV Globo. In addition to running Bom Dia Brasil, he presented Jornal da Globo and RJTV, was a member of the Jornal Nacional panel and served as an international correspondent and special reporter. Between 1996 and 2010, he was presenter and editor-in-chief of Bom Dia Brasil, a period in which he helped to reformulate the news program.
