Registration for the 2027 LED Globo Awards is open until September 2nd

LED Globo Movement - Light in Education - completes 5 years Educators, students, entrepreneurs and organizations from Rio Grande do Sul can register for free in the LED Globo 2027 Award until September 2, 2026. The award will distribute R$ 1.2 million among six winning projects in the Educators, Students and Entrepreneurs or Organizations categories. The initiative is from Globo and the Roberto Marinho Foundation. The award recognizes projects that make a difference in education and evaluates criteria such as innovation, impact, scalability, replicability and methodological rigor. ? The launch of the 6th edition takes place in the year in which Movimento LED Globo turns five. During the period, 12,133 initiatives registered between 2021 and 2025 were analyzed, according to the study "Brazil that innovates in education: Learning from the 5 Years of the Led Globo Prize". The survey points out that educational innovation solutions in the country emerge in a decentralized way, in different Brazilian territories and realities. The study also identifies growth in diversity among initiative proponents. Between 2021 and 2025, the participation of women increased from 53.5% to 58.4%. In the same period, black and brown people went from 39.7% to 50.7% of those registered, becoming the majority among those participating in the award. The participation of people with disabilities grew from 3% to 4.89%. In Rio Grande do Sul, two initiatives from Porto Alegre appear among the award's ambassador projects. In the Entrepreneurs and Organizations category, Herself Educacional, by Victoria de Castro, appears as a project for the LED 2026 Award. The initiative is described as a social business dedicated to consolidating menstrual education in Brazil, with training, educational materials and actions in schools and communities. Also from Porto Alegre, the project ¿Hablas Español?, by Gabriel Fontoura Motta, is mentioned in the Students category as an initiative of the LED 2022 Challenge. The proposal uses theater and participatory methodologies to make the teaching of the Spanish Language more meaningful and accessible, with theatrical games, digital resources and collaborative activities.
