Genial/Quaest research released this Thursday (16) on the new tariff imposed by the United States on Brazil shows that, for 51% of those interviewed, responsibility for the measure lies with the senator and PL...
The question asked by the institute was with whom the interviewees agreed most: with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who accuses Flávio of having encouraged the tariff, or with the senator, who claims to have asked the President of the United States, Donald Trump, not to adopt the measure. In the survey, 51% said they agreed with Lula, compared to 47% in the June survey, while 30% agreed with Flávio Bolsonaro, below the 35% previously recorded.
According to the survey, 42% of those interviewed stated that the new tariff increases the desire to vote for Lula in the presidential elections, while 27% said the same in relation to Flávio Bolsonaro.
The survey also shows that 62% of Brazilians said they were aware of the new tariffs imposed by the United States, while 38% said they were not aware of the measure. For 63%, tariffs will harm the lives of Brazilians; another 31% say no.
The survey also indicates that 57% of those interviewed said they were unaware of Flávio Bolsonaro's trip to the United States, where the senator stated that he had asked Trump not to impose tariffs on Brazilian products and defended Pix. Among those who were aware of the agenda, 58% said they believed he did not have the influence to convince Trump to review the tariff, while 34% said they trusted the parliamentarian's ability to influence the decision.
The survey was carried out between the 10th and 13th of July, before the official announcement of the new pricing by the United States. 2,004 people were interviewed across the country. The margin of error is two percentage points, plus or minus, and the survey is registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under number BR-07181/2026.
