(FOLHAPRESS) - Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil pay this Monday (17) the seventh and final batch of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus for 2026. In total, 4.1 million workers born in November and December are eligible to receive the benefit for the base year 2024.

According to the MTE (Ministry of Labor and Employment), R$5.2 billion are being released in this batch. Of the total number of beneficiaries, 3.652 million are private sector workers, who receive PIS through Caixa. Another 471.9 thousand are public servants entitled to Pasep, paid by Banco do Brasil.

Workers who are unable to retrieve the money have until December 30th to receive it. Payments of the 2026 salary bonus began in February.

The value of the benefit varies from R$136 to R$1,621, depending on the number of months worked in 2024. Those who worked the 12 months of the base year receive a minimum wage; the rest are entitled to proportional payment.

Anyone who has been registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years, worked with a formal contract for at least 30 days in 2024, received an average monthly salary of up to R$2,766 in the period and had the data correctly entered by the employer in eSocial is entitled to the bonus.

At Caixa, payment is made via credit to a current, savings or Digital Social Account, via Caixa Tem. Those who do not have an account can withdraw the benefit at branches, lotteries, ATMs and Caixa Aqui correspondents.

At Banco do Brasil, Pasep is deposited into customers' bank accounts automatically. Those who are not account holders can receive payments via TED, Pix or face-to-face service at branches, if they do not have a registered Pix key.

In a specific decision by the Federal Court, the MTE also brought forward to this Wednesday the payment of the bonus to workers residing in Juiz de Fora, Ubá and Matias Barbosa (MG), municipalities affected by a public calamity.

Workers in the private sector and public servants who formally worked for at least 30 days in 2024 and have been registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years and received, on average, up to R$2,765.93 per month.

HOW IS PIS PAYMENT MADE?

PIS is paid by Caixa Econômica Federal to private sector workers. Anyone who has a checking or savings account at Caixa receives credit automatically. Workers without an account will be able to withdraw funds at branches, lotteries, ATMs and Caixa Aqui correspondents.

HOW DOES PASEP PAYMENT WORK?

Pasep is paid by Banco do Brasil to public servants. Bank customers receive the amount directly into their account. Those who do not have an account must look for a Banco do Brasil branch to withdraw the benefit, bringing an identification document with a photo.
