People with Disabilities Week has adapted bicycles and free activities in Petrolina

Apae walk marked the beginning of the National Week for People with Disabilities During the National Week for People with Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities, actions aimed at inclusion and accessibility will be carried out in Petrolina, Sertão de Pernambuco. This Saturday (22), a college in the municipality will carry out an action under the ‘Bike without Barriers’ project, at Parque Municipal Josefa Coelho, starting at 8am. The initiative of Grupo Ser Educacional, sponsor of Uninassau, provides adapted bicycles for people with disabilities. The action is coordinated by the Association of People with Disabilities of Vale do São Francisco (APCDVASF), Conduz and the Government of Pernambuco. Throughout the morning, three types of adapted bicycles will be available with the help of monitors. There is an adapted tricycle, to be pedaled with your hands; a tandem bicycle, pedaled by a visually impaired person and a companion; and an adapted bicycle with a wheelchair in place of the front wheel. The action in the park is part of a series of mobilizations that take place from the 21st to the 26th of August in the city, under the theme ‘Disability does not define. Opportunity transforms. Include our voice!’. The agenda also includes an inclusive walk, an outdoor picnic, a seminar at the Federal Court and a conversation circle at the municipal library.
