Panda opens Barretos and turns the arena into a karaoke for suffering without moderation

This time, as the protagonist and with the mission of opening, on Thursday night (20), the shows of the 71st edition of the biggest country festival in the country. On the rise since 2024 and with songs among the most listened to on streaming platforms, the singer bet precisely on the formula that helped to project him: suffering, powerful voice and a repertoire full of songs to sing with his eyes closed — or with a glass in his hand. Panda balanced his own successes with a journey through the romantic backlands, mainly from the 1990s and 2000s. And he found an arena willing to embark on the proposal. He still managed to take a moment to take his wife and mother to the front of the stage, to thank them for their support of his career. “Baqueado”, a partnership with Ícaro and Gilmar released on the “Panda Sem Moderation” DVD, opened the sequence and got the audience singing. The song is one of the main hits of the artist's career and helped boost his career. Next came “Calcinha de Renda”, recorded with Gusttavo Lima, “Como Um Anjo”, by Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, and “Tem Nada a Ver”, by Jorge & Mateus. “Porcelanato”, another of Panda’s hits, gained a strong chorus from fans. If suffering was the fuel of the night, the big voice tried to do the rest of the work. In “Corpo Nu”, Panda displayed the vocal power that became one of his trademarks. But it was with “Agora”, a hit by Bruno & Marrone, that the similarity between his voice and Bruno’s — a comparison that has accompanied the singer since he gained national prominence — became even more evident and drew screams from the arena. There was also space to pay tribute to Marília Mendonça. Panda chose “Troca de Calçada”, released by the singer in 2021, to remember the artist who became a symbol of suffering in the country. Between one song and another, the singer spoke to the audience and warned that no one would emerge from the repertoire unscathed. "I'm very happy to be here. The duo Bruno & Denner took the stage to sing “Por Um Minuto”, a classic by Bruno & Marrone. Bruno is Gusttavo Lima's nephew. And if anyone still had doubts that, in Panda's repertoire, romantic music doesn't necessarily need to have been born in the country to win a hat and buckle, the show tried to answer it. “Deus Me Livre” and “Que Pena”, Raça Negra’s hits in the 1990s, gained versions led by the accordion and tambourine. “For You Believe”, by Ferrugem, also entered the mix. Panda saved the biggest hit of the year for last – so far. “Eu Te Seguro”, from the DVD “Panda Sem Moderaçao 2”, was the most played song on the platforms in the first half of the year, holding the country music genre at the top. It was at this moment that he called his wife, Shirlen Wikina, and his mother to the front of the stage, whom he thanked for everything he has achieved. Shirlen's kiss drove the audience crazy. Between his own hits, modões, pagode and a good dose of suffering, Panda transformed his return to Barretos into a great country karaoke — one of those in which a large part of the arena already knows the next song before even the first verse.
