Guidelines for bathers To reinforce the safety of beachgoers, the city hall informed that it will install new signage on the capital's beaches, following guidelines from the Tocantins Military Fire Department. Recommendations include respecting the designated bathing area, avoiding entering the water after consuming alcoholic beverages or heavy meals and paying constant attention to children. There are also guidelines related to the presence of piranhas and stingrays. The recommendation is not to enter the water with injuries, not to discard food waste in the lake, to dispose of trash correctly and to preserve the protective screens installed on the beaches.
