According to Celesc, the main pressure factors on the electricity bill are the costs passed on to the distributor, which include the generation and transmission of energy, in addition to taxes and sectoral charges provided for in federal legislation. Among the items with the greatest impact are federal charges intended to finance public policies and national subsidies in the electricity sector, with emphasis on the Energy Development Account (CDE). The review process in-depth assesses the costs of operating and maintaining the network, the quality of services provided, the levels of energy losses and the investments necessary to maintain the efficiency of the system. The new tariffs are announced in August, the anniversary of Celesc's concession contract.
