Man is arrested on suspicion of threatening a 10-year-old child in Itaperuna A man, whose name was not released by the police, was arrested red-handed this Thursday (13) on suspicion of threatening to kill a 10-year-old child in front of a municipal school in Comendador Venâncio, district of Itaperuna, in Noroeste Fluminense. According to the Civil Police, the suspect said he was going to kill the boy, “chop” the body and throw it into the fish. According to delegate José Paulo Pires, responsible for the case, the victim studies at the same school as the suspect's daughter and, according to the man, had been attacking the other child for some time. According to the police chief, the man decided to wait for the boy to pass in front of the family's house, located close to the school. The Civil Police reported that, after threatening the boy, the man went to the school management and confirmed what he had said. “He went to the school management and said, in front of the principal, that he committed the crime and that he said that to the child”, declared the police chief. The Municipal Civil Guard was called. The man was taken to the police station where he was charged with the crime of threatening. As the case was framed under the Henry Borel Law, the Special Courts Law (Law 9,099/95) does not apply. Bail was set, but, according to information from the police station, the man would not pay the bail and would remain in custody at the disposal of the Court. The Civil Police also reported that he has a record of bodily harm, threats, insults, slander and drug possession. The city hall also stated that, in accordance with Law No. 13,185/2015, the episode between the students was considered an isolated act, with no history of repetition, and therefore does not legally qualify as bullying.
