Man gives a 'thumbs up' to the security camera before robbing a pharmacy in Valinhos and is arrested Reproduction A 24-year-old man was arrested in the act after robbing a pharmacy and waving at the security cameras in the early hours of Wednesday (19) on Avenida Rosa Belmiro Ramos, in Valinhos (SP). According to the Municipal Civil Guard, the suspect threatened the establishment's employees, who were mostly women. He stated that he would stab the victims if they did not hand over all the money in the till. The team delivered R$95, an amount that was left at the location due to the high volume of card payments. Monitoring and arrest After the crime, the corporation was called and received the characteristics of the suspect, identified as a resident of Campinas (SP). Agents from the Operations and Intelligence Center (CECOM) began monitoring the incident through the city's monitoring system. The cameras made it possible to view the moment in which the individual fled towards the Jardim das Figueiras neighborhood. Vehicles were directed to the region and managed to locate and detain the suspect. When the police approached, the guards found that: the man had only R$70 in cash; the other R$25 stolen would have been used by him to buy crack. The case was presented to the police department, where the delegate ratified the arrest in the act for the crime of robbery. After legal procedures, the man was transferred to the prison attached to the 2nd Police District of Campinas, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice Department. The GCM also reported that the suspect has several criminal records. His history includes incidents related to drug trafficking, domestic violence, bodily injury, theft and homicide.
