The warrants were issued by the 1st Regional Court of Guarantees of the Court of Justice of the State of Paraíba (TJPB). The operation was launched by the Public Ministry of the State of Paraíba, through the Special Action Group Against Organized Crime (GAECO), with support from the Civil Police of the State of Paraíba, through the Organized Crime Repression Police Station (DRACO), the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (SPA) and the Lottery of the State of Paraíba (LOTEP). ? Click here to follow the g1 PB channel on WhatsApp According to Gaeco, the investigation revealed the existence of a business structure focused on the illegal exploitation of betting platforms that operate without authorization from the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance and without accreditation from LOTEP. The group investigated used interconnected individuals and legal entities to appear to be within the law, with shell companies and social capital incompatible with the economic reality of the partners. The companies' headquarters were fictitious and there was no operational structure, according to investigations. There is evidence of the crimes of illegal lottery exploitation, criminal organization, money laundering and electronic fraud committed against consumers. To make investigations and tracking financial flows more difficult, irregular electronic domains and simulated companies were used. Based on the investigation, it was determined that financial assets, including crypto assets, would be blocked, in addition to restrictions on movable assets in the order of R$ 101,990,000.00.
