The initiative was announced on the institution's social media, which reported that the pieces were donated to benefit the Retreat. "The time has come. Starting this Wednesday, our Retiro dos Artistas Brechó Bazaar will begin selling items that belonged to our dear Jô Soares and were donated with great care to benefit the Retiro", says the publication.

Jô died on August 5, 2022, aged 84, in Rio de Janeiro. One of the main names in Brazilian humor and television, he led programs such as Jô Soares Onze e Meia, on SBT, and Programa do Jô, on Globo, in addition to having worked as a writer, actor, director and screenwriter.
