Through court decisions, those involved would have authorized the withdrawal of almost R$150 million from the company. In Amazonas, the magistrates and the civil servant were dismissed in CNJ decisions related to an investigation into an alleged fraudulent scheme that led to the withdrawal of around R$150 million from Eletrobras through a legal action that was being processed in the District of Presidente Figueiredo, in the interior of the state. Judge Elci Simões de Oliveira and judge Jean Carlos Pimentel dos Santos, from the Single Court of the District of Presidente Figueiredo, were removed on February 21, 2025. According to the CNJ, the decision considered the speed with which the process progressed, incompatible with the workload of the Single Court. For the minister, the judge would not have adopted the necessary caution in analyzing the validity of the documents presented, their content and the legitimacy of the beneficiaries. Seven days later, on February 28, Campbell ordered the removal of another judge and a TJAM employee: Roger Luiz Paz de Almeida, from the Court of Executions of Alternative Measures and Penalties (Vemepa), and Gean Carlos Bezerra Alves, respectively. According to the CNJ, the two would have worked together to restrict Eletrobras' procedural actions, which would have enabled the fraudulent withdrawal of large amounts. Also according to the Council, the magistrate handed down decisions that resulted in the constriction of more than R$100 million from the company's accounts, in an execution of executive titles that had already expired. In the removal decision, Campbell stated that the conduct investigated could cause damage to the image of the Amazonian Judiciary and indicated possible violations of the principles of impartiality and equality that should guide the actions of magistrates.
