Members of the Public Security leadership told the report that the investigation that began on the morning of Wednesday (12) had not found any evidence until this Thursday (13) that Haddad or members of his team had been embarrassed by military police officers. The assessment, however, is still preliminary.
The investigation attempts to clarify whether divergences identified in the reports are the result of confusion about times and locations or whether the reported dynamics did not occur as described.
According to them, who spoke on condition of anonymity, images from cameras around the PT member's house show a vehicle in circulation, at a speed compatible with normal patrolling in the region. The recordings, according to them, do not show any reduction in speed or the use of spotlights in the direction of Haddad or the occupants of the vehicles parked at the location.
The investigation found, in the version of these members of the Tarcísio government, discrepancies between the version of Haddad's driver and the images obtained in the locations highlighted by him as points where a chase and police approach had occurred.
Teams responsible for checking went to the addresses indicated by Haddad's driver and analyzed images from security cameras. According to these members of the Public Security leadership, neither his presence at the reported times nor an approach made by PMs have been identified in the records for the time being.
In one of the reports, the driver claimed to have stopped in a hotel parking lot. The verified images, however, would show the vehicle passing through the establishment without stopping.
When asked about the divergence, he would have later indicated another location as a possible point of approach. The analysis of cameras at this second address also did not find, according to these people, records compatible with the version presented.
During an appointment in the municipality of Sertãozinho, in the interior of São Paulo, Haddad told journalists that all information had been provided, including the hotel they had passed through. "We indicated the camera precisely. They took an image from another camera. The hotel is on a corner. So it has two fronts," he said.
"There's also Smart Sampa, there's also a city hall camera there, so it shouldn't be difficult to find out what happened," said Haddad.
The candidate also said again that the police put a light inside his car and disputed the version that this had occurred due to a robbery that had occurred in the region after receiving a report of the episode with the time of 11pm.
"What I'm asking for is a good explanation for this, because I don't think it's right in the political environment that we live in an approach that can't be explained."
The Public Security Secretariat intends to compare the available records before presenting a conclusion on the episode. A note on the case should be released this Thursday (13) with an official position.
According to Haddad's version, he noticed the presence of a car when he was returning from a master class at the Faculty of Law at USP (University of São Paulo), in Largo São Francisco. He said that, when he arrived home, in the south of São Paulo, a light was directed into his vehicle.
The PT member said he found the situation strange. The most worrying episode, according to Haddad, occurred later, with his driver, whose name was not disclosed. "My driver was accompanied in a strange way, a little ostentatious, like, pairing the car, sticking it to the rear bumper, following, parking," he stated.
According to the report presented by the PT member, the driver decided to stop in the parking lot of a hotel in Vila Mariana to try to understand the reason for the follow-up.
The driver then asked the police if there was a problem and received an aggressive response. After remaining at the scene for some time, the vehicle allegedly drove away, and the driver continued home.
"The driver was very shaken this morning," said Haddad. "He was shaken until now, because there were three rifles inside the car, people looking at him. He is a worker."
