He began his career doing teletheater on TV Tupi and, in 1959, he acted in "Um Lugar ao Sol", his first appearance in a soap opera, on TV Excelsior.

In 1963, Menezes starred in the serial "2-5499 Ocupado". She formed a romantic partner with Tarcísio Meira, whose wife she became in October of that same year.

At Globo, the two worked together on "Rosa Rebelde" (1969), "Espelho Mágico" (1977), "Guerra dos Sexos" (1983) and "A Favorita" (2008). Meira died five years ago.
