Father and son on the run for a year are arrested on suspicion of killing a group that collected debt in Paraná

Antônio Buscariollo, 67, and Paulo Ricardo Costa Buscariollo, 23, were detained at a farm in Rio das Pedras (SP). According to police, the two were arrested in a wooded area while trying to escape. Another son of Antônio, Carlos Henrique Buscariollo, was also arrested this Tuesday in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste (SP).

Folha de S.Paulo contacted lawyer Renan Farah, who represents the family, by message and telephone, but did not receive a response until the text was published. At the time, Farah denied the Buscariollos' involvement in the crime and said that the two fled after receiving death threats.

They are suspected of the deaths of Robishley Hirnani de Oliveira, 53, Rafael Juliano Marascalchi, 43, Diego Henrique Afonso, 39, who worked in debt collection, and Alencar Gonçalves de Souza, 36. The bodies of the four were found on September 19, 2025 with gunshot marks and buried in a forested area. The car used by the group on the day of the disappearance was also found buried.

According to the Paraná police, the two were found at the site following clues identified by intelligence work.

"With the identification of his whereabouts, we carried out monitoring and planned the best moment for capture. During the action in Rio das Pedras, father and son tried to escape and were captured in the middle of the forest", said delegate Thiago Teixeira in a statement.

According to the police chief, Carlos Henrique was the mastermind behind the murders, while Antônio and Paulo carried out the shooting. Another son, Carlos Eduardo Buscariollo, is already in prison, convicted of drug trafficking, and is also formally investigated in the case. The police are still investigating who owns the site in Rio das Pedras.

The case began on August 4, 2025, when Robishley, Rafael and Diego left the state of São Paulo by car and arrived in Icaraíma, in the northwest of Paraná.

According to the police, there they met Alencar, a resident of the city. According to the police, he had hired the three to collect an alleged debt of R$255,000 related to the purchase of a rural property, which the Buscariollo family had with him.

Later that day, the group went to a rural property in the district of Vila Rica and made the first contact with a member of the debtor family. At the time, it was agreed that they would return the following day to continue the negotiation.

On the 5th, the four stopped responding to calls and messages, and Alencar's family notified the Military Police about his disappearance. The families of the other three reported their disappearance to the São Paulo Civil Police the following day.

During the investigation, experts located the buried Fiat Toro vehicle used by the group, with gunshot wounds and traces of blood. The bodies were found in the early hours of August 19, in a forested area covered by branches.

They were buried together, in the early stages of decomposition, with gunshot marks on the body. According to the investigation, the group hired by Alencar worked with debt collection and the approach would be verbal, without the use of physical violence.

The Buscariollos argue that the purchase was made by relatives and deny having incurred the debt. Father and son testified to the police at the time, before the bodies were found, and stated they had no involvement in the crime. According to the investigation, they fled the city the day after the statement.
