Famato Mulher Commission highlights female performance in Mato Grosso at the 3rd Union Leadership Forum

The state delegation was led by the president of the Commission, Luciana Tomain, accompanied by the president of the Rural Union of Guiratinga and commission ambassador, Juliana Mesquita; by the rural producer and member of the commission, Bruna Soares; and the group's administrative assistant, Thaiza Moraes.

The forum's program included debates on the country's political panorama, the role of the rural union as a space for transformation, female representation and the international defense of rural producers. The meeting also featured panels on innovation, strategic guidelines from the CNA/Senar System and lectures focused on leadership, self-responsibility and behavioral intelligence.

The rise in female representation reflects a profound and irreversible change in the governance of the Brazilian agricultural sector. The increasing occupation of leadership positions by women in rural unions demonstrates that equity is not just a conceptual agenda, but a reality that is expanding in practice.

In Mato Grosso, the Famato Mulher Commission carried out a survey of women in leadership and decision-making spaces. Since its foundation in 2023, it has increased from 208 women occupying seats within rural unions to 355 in 2026.

For the president of the Famato Mulher Commission, Luciana Tomain, strengthening female leadership also involves the constant search for knowledge and qualifications.

"Women are increasingly at the forefront of the agenda and occupying leadership spaces, but they also want to be prepared for these challenges. The search for knowledge, training and qualification is essential so that we can exercise these spaces with even more security and contribute effectively to the development of the sector. This is one of the objectives of our commission: to strengthen women and their families, expand their representation and create opportunities so that they are increasingly prepared to lead and transform", he highlights.

For Juliana Mesquita, being alongside women from all over Brazil, sharing experiences and discussing leadership, representation and strengthening the union system, was an experience of great learning and exchange.

"Women have always been in the field, working and contributing. Today, they are also occupying leadership spaces, not to replace, but to add, walk together and further strengthen our agriculture. I return to Mato Grosso bringing new ideas, knowledge and even more motivation to contribute to our Federation, our unions and rural producers", she reports.
