Between the end of May and the beginning of June, the City Hall had already partially blocked the two viaducts for the first phase of work, which included visual inspections of the structure. Before that, in May, the bridge also underwent a total closure for scheduled maintenance services - which affected traffic at the time. What the traffic is like The closures from this Thursday (9) until June 29th will be carried out alternately in two sections: on the branch that connects Avenida São João to the south region and on the access viaduct to Jardim Aquarius. Mobility agents will be on site to guide drivers. From Monday to Friday, including the holidays of July 9th and 27th, closures will occur from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. On Saturdays, work will be carried out at the same times and may be extended depending on the needs of the company responsible for the services. On Sundays, traffic will be open on both viaducts. During the period, Comgás will also replace the gas distribution network around the Arco da Inovação. According to the City Hall, the concessionaire's services will be carried out at the same times and locations as the closures planned for the bridge inspection. The municipal administration reported that the schedule was designed to avoid impacts at peak times and concentrate interventions during school breaks. Inspection The inspection of the cable-stayed bridge is divided into three stages and is part of the preventive maintenance of the structure. The first phase has already been completed. Now, the city hall will carry out tests on the support cables. The last stage, which does not yet have a defined date, will be the inspection of the anchorages and will also require the closure of traffic on the bridge.
