Sebrae Prefeitura Empreendedora Award, Credit Simplification category: Disclosure The strengthening of the economy has been one of the hallmarks of public management in Americana. With policies aimed at attracting investment, encouraging entrepreneurship, professional qualification and reducing bureaucracy in services, the municipality has been consolidating a favorable environment for the generation of jobs and the expansion of economic activity. The results appear in indicators such as the creation of 12,300 formal jobs since 2021, the opening of almost 4,000 companies in the first half of 2026 alone and the growth in exports, in addition to the arrival of the first Chinese multinational in the city's history. The activities of the Economic Development Secretariat bring together initiatives aimed at strengthening the business environment, such as Ganha Tempo do Empreendedor, the Economic Observatory, workforce qualification programs and actions to encourage access to credit. At the same time, Americana expands its economic diversification with investments in the industrial, technological, logistics and services sectors. In the first half of 2026 alone, 3,992 companies were opened and the municipality's exports reached US$371.6 million, growth of 45.4% compared to the same period of the previous year. Attracting investments strengthens the economy Among the milestones of this scenario is the installation of YAPP, the first Chinese multinational company to establish itself in Americana. With an investment of approximately R$140 million, the new unit, located in the São Jerônimo neighborhood, is expected to generate more than 100 direct jobs in the coming years. The company operates in the research, development and manufacture of automotive energy storage systems, being the only holder, in Brazil, of the technology for producing fuel tanks for hybrid vehicles. For the municipal secretary of Economic Development, Rafael de Barros, the indicators reflect a strategy based on planning and competitiveness. "Americana has been building an increasingly attractive environment for new investments. The strengthening of infrastructure, the qualification of the workforce and the legal security offered to entrepreneurs have allowed companies to choose the city to expand their businesses, generating jobs, income and development for the entire population." Reducing bureaucracy boosts opportunities In addition to attracting large companies, City Hall also invests in creating a more favorable environment for those who want to undertake. The modernization of public services, the simplification of business opening processes and permanent support for entrepreneurs earned the municipality state recognition with the Sebrae Prefeitura Empreendedora Award, in the Simplification category. The award highlighted Americana for its initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucracy and improving the business environment, strengthening employment and income generation. According to Rafael de Barros, sustainable economic growth depends both on attracting large investments and on strengthening small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. "Our work seeks to create opportunities on all fronts. When we facilitate the opening of companies, expand access to qualifications and offer instruments for business development, we stimulate a virtuous cycle that benefits the entire local economy and improves the population's quality of life."
