According to the police report, the driver of the car said he had been confused with the headlights of the vehicles on the highway, which caused the accident. He underwent a breathalyzer test, which gave a negative result for alcohol consumption. The motorcyclist was subjected to the same test and presented a result of 0.58 milligrams of alcohol per liter of air expelled. He and the passenger on the motorcycle were initially taken to the Emergency Room and then to the police station. Forensics were also called to analyze the scene of the accident. No license The Civil Police also reported that, in addition to riding the motorcycle while intoxicated, the motorcyclist did not have a license to drive. Given the test results and the lack of a driver's license, he was arrested red-handed. The police authority set bail at R$1,700, but the amount was not paid. As a result, the man remained arrested and was taken to the Botucatu Custody Center, where he was to undergo a custody hearing. The incident was initially recorded as an accident involving bodily injury while driving a vehicle, drunk driving and driving a vehicle without a license.
