Cyclists and drivers who witnessed the accident stopped on the side of the road to help the victim. The driver of the car, however, reversed and fled without providing assistance. "I remember that everything was dark [...]. I was worried that [another] car would come and run over me. I remember that I dragged myself to the side of the road. I was screaming a lot in pain and they [witnesses] called help and stayed there with me", said the motorcyclist who was affected. A medical team was sent to the scene and took the woman to the Cubatão Emergency Room. To g1, the victim said he suffered a dislocated foot and back pain. She had to be away from work for eight days. "I'm lucky that I carry all the protective equipment for motorcyclists. That's what saved me," he said. The woman added that a team from the Military Police (PM) recorded the incident while still at the hospital. The reporting team requested a position from the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) to find out if the driver is being investigated, but did not receive any response until the last update.
